O-Level Accounting Course Description
At Beacon Excellence Academy, our O-Level Accounting course is designed for junior students, introducing them to fundamental accounting concepts and practices that build a strong foundation for further studies. This course, which runs from July to April, begins with the basics, covering topics like the Purpose of Accounting, the Accounting Equation, and Double Entry System. Students will learn essential skills like Bookkeeping, Bank Reconciliation, and understanding Business Documents, as well as how to prepare a Trial Balance.
The curriculum moves forward to cover more advanced topics such as Capital and Revenue Expenditures, Accounting for Depreciation, Sole Traders, Partnerships, and Manufacturing Accounts. Each topic is reinforced with monthly tests to track progress and understanding. The course concludes with a structured revision phase, followed by extensive past paper practice to ensure students are well-prepared for exams and capable of applying accounting principles effectively.
AS-Level Accounting Course Description
Beacon Excellence Academy’s AS-Level Accounting course offers an intermediate-level dive into Financial and Cost & Management Accounting, ideal for students who have a basic understanding of accounting. The course, running from July to April, introduces Financial Accounting topics such as Business Entities, Capital and Revenue Expenditures, and Ratios, alongside Cost & Management Accounting areas including Costing Applications, Absorption Costing, and Cost-Volume-Profit Analysis.
The AS-Level curriculum prepares students with essential skills for analyzing, interpreting, and reporting financial data, which is valuable for higher studies and future careers in accounting. With monthly assessments, a dedicated revision period, and past paper practice, students are given all the tools needed to succeed in exams and deepen their understanding of accounting practices.
A-Level Accounting Course Description
The A-Level Accounting course at Beacon Excellence Academy is an advanced program designed to prepare students for higher education or professional accounting roles. Students will cover comprehensive topics in both Financial and Cost & Management Accounting, with a focus on complex areas such as International Accounting Standards, Business Mergers, and Ethical Considerations. Cost & Management Accounting topics include Standard Costing, Budgetary Control, and Investment Appraisal.
Running from July to April, the A-Level course includes monthly assessments, an intensive revision phase, and rigorous past paper practice, enabling students to master complex accounting concepts and acquire skills in financial analysis and decision-making. This course offers a solid foundation for students who plan to pursue accounting or finance at the university level or start a career in these fields.
